Pirate Zombies not counting towards challenges

Question

When completing challenges while playing in Garden Ops mode, we noticed that the pirate variant of a zombie will not count towards completing challenges. &nbsp;For example, if a challenge states to vanquish 5 cone-head zombies, then if you're on a map with pirate zombies the pirate cone-head zombie will not count towards the challenge. &nbsp;This applies to grumps (map zombies), screendoor (wheel-helm zombies), and coffin (barrel zombies). &nbsp;Our only solution is to pick a non-pirate spawning map to complete the challenges. &nbsp;Thanks.

This is because the pirate variants are considered entirely different types of zombies (If you look in the stickerbook, you'll see that the Map Pirate &amp; Barrel Pirate are shown separately from the Newspaper Zombies &amp; Coffin Zombie respectively, for example). When you get to higher levels, there are challeneges for the specific pirate zombies. Although this isn't made completely clear in game, it's not really a bug, so you're right in saying that you have to manually pick which map you want to play on in order to focus on an AI challenge.

Ok, glad that was cleared up. &nbsp;Silly question, my plant characters are all about level 13 and I have never seen any pirate specific challenges. &nbsp;When will they begin to show? &nbsp;15 and higher? &nbsp;Thanks again!

Probably higher than level 20, since the original maximum level was 20, before pirates were even released.

That's correct! From level 20 upwards. Different classes have different pirate challenges as well. 🙂
