Plants & Zombies Town Center - Gnome Guide!
Hi everyone,
In this thread I will be covering how to complete at least most of the gnome activities, in the Plants and Zombie Town Center. The reason that I am putting the two regions into one is the Diamond and Golden Gnomes, Gnome Chests and the other Gnome Activities are actually shared between the two Town Center regions. For example, if you collect a Golden Gnome in Zombies Town Center, you will have already collected it in Plants Town Center as well, if that makes sense. Because there are a lot of gnome activities in the Town Center regions to complete, I am not going to cover all of it, but I will attach links to sites where you can find out to collect the collectibles or. I will also attach some of my personal tips to make it a bit easier to complete the Gnome Boss Fights.
The Gnome Activities I will cover include:
- Golden Gnomes.
- Diamond Gnomes.
- The Mysterious Phone.
- Gnome Chests.
- Gnome Shrine.
- Sir Biff Gnome Boss Fight.
- The Rewards.
Let's get started on this now.
Golden Gnomes
Across all of the Town Center, there are 24 golden gnomes. Some of them are really easy to collect, while others can be really difficult to get hold of. Some can be collected immediately, while others may require a challenge, such as Catch that Gnome, Gnomolith Activity, or a Gnomolith Puzzle. Some may not be obviously spotted either, and you may need to look for a gnome button which either reveals the gnome or can then trigger the activity.
To find out how to collect all of the golden gnomes, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHCdRaOD3cc
When you collect all 24 of the Golden Gnomes, you will be able to open all of the Gnome Chests, located at the Gnome Shrine.
Diamond Gnomes
Across all of the Town Center, there are 3 diamond gnomes. They require different activities for you to complete, one being a Parkour challenge, another being a Puzzle, and the final one being a Gnomolith Boss Fight.
To find out how to collect all of the diamond gnomes, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7EZedqL3NA
When you collect all of the 3 Diamond Gnomes, you will be able to open the Mysterious Door in the Gnome Shrine, which gives you access to the Sir Biff Gnome Boss Fight.

Diamond Gnome Gnomolith Tips - Unyielding Knight!
For the Gnomolith activity required to get the Diamond Gnome, here are my tips to make it a bit easier for you:
- You have a time limit. The more damage and DPS you have, the easier you will find it to win. I recommend Attack characters.
- You deal barely any damage to the Unyielding Knight, until you defeat his Glyph Guard. Try to focus your firepower on the Glyph Guard, while also vanquishing any other annoying Gnomes. Splash damage, area of effect and explosive attacks and abilities are really useful here.
- The Unyielding Knight has a bucket load of health. By defeating the Glyph Guard, a Glyph appears somewhere around the edge. Locate it. It is a blue glowing circle. While you stand in it, you gain a massive damage boost and a huge healing boost. Use this time before the Glyph disappears to focus attacking the boss and to deal as much damage as possible. You can also take out approaching gnomes with ease, but you should not bother as you will be rapidly healing. Now is a great time to use damaging attacks and abilities.
- Use cover if needed. Keep moving to get away from the Gnomes that are constantly chasing you.
- Consider your character and upgrades you use before attempting the Gnomolith.
The Mysterious Phone
This is located in Sundrop Hills. You use the Mysterious Phone to get in contact with a "mysterious" gnome. Once you have collected all 3 of the Diamond Gnomes, the phone will "ring". Head to the Mysterious Phone and interact with it. The guy (mysterious gnome) on the phone will want you to defeat Sir Biff. If you do, you will get rewarded by the mysterious gnome.
Gnome Chests
There are 2 Gnome Chests located in Town Center (remember, this is shared across both the Plants and Zombies side). These are located inside of the Gnome Shrine. When you collect 12 Golden Gnomes, you get access to one of the Gnome Chests. When you collect all 24 Golden Gnomes, you gain access to both chests. These are both located on opposite ends of the Mysterious Door.
Gnome Shrine
There is a Gnome Shrine located in Town Center. This is located inside the Sewers, close to where the Plumbing Gig is. This is located opposite of where the portrait to start the Plumbing Gig is. Head to the portrait, then keep going and go into the tunnel straight ahead. Keep going through until you find the Gnome Shrine. This is where the Mysterious Door and Gnome Chests are located.
Sir Biff Gnome Boss Fight
Once you have collected all of the Diamond Gnomes, you will be take on the final gnome boss for the region: Sir Biff. By defeating him, you will get a bunch of rewards. Keep in mind he has a lot of health. To watch the boss fight in action, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmHBeFf2fiQ. Just as a note, after you have defeated him, head back to the Mysterious Phone and interact with it - you have some rewards waiting for you! My tips to make the boss fight a little bit easier are as follows:
- Stay away from the edge or you could get knocked off and instantly vanquished.
- Sometimes, the boss will teleport around the arena. Try and observe where he newly appears so you don't get surprised.
- High health and healing are useful for the fight for improved survivability.
- Attack characters are also really useful as they can deal lots of damage to the boss and can vanquish enemies quickly. Consider using upgrades such as Vampiric or Low Life to keep your health topped up.
- Gnomes appear throughout the fight. Try to vanquish them quickly so you do not get swarmed. Use explosive firepower, splash damage or area-of-effect attacks and abilities to your advantage.
- Use cover if your health is getting low. Keep moving if possible to keep your distance from the Gnomes.
- Consider what character you use and which upgrades you equip before heading through the Mysterious Door.
The Rewards
By defeating Sir Biff, you will receive rewards as listed below. You will also get some rewards along the way. The Rewards are as follows:
- "Gnight: Schooled" - a medal you get for defeating Sir Biff.
- 10,000 coins.
- 50,000 coins (interacting with the Mysterious Phone after defeating Sir Biff).
- Windmill Wonderland - universal hat (interacting with the Mysterious Phone after defeating Sir Biff).
- Shrine of Tra-la-la! and Infinity Mallets - victory slab and punchers, respectively (Gnome Chests).
- 100,000 coins (from both Gnome Chests all together).
- 250 XP for each Golden Gnome collected.
- 1,000 XP for each Diamond Gnome collected.
- Any other Medals and rewards you earn along the way.
I hope that this guide was helpful and I'll see you next time!
Regards
