Plants Suck
Yeah, I feel better in my heart now I've expressed my opinion about this side. It isn't even one class that sucks, it's all of them. Fix Rose Buff Sunflower Fix Chomper Buff Cactus Buff Peashoo...
I don't know if Zahneen1337 wanted me to post this or not but I've done so anyways.
A few ideas on how to improve the Chomper.
The Chomper has two problems
To fix the Chomper’s digestion rate problem it needs a new way eat zombies.
This is how I think it should be solved.
This is only given to chompers without spray types or belching weapons. I’m calling it the buffet bar. This digestion themed bar will show how many zombies can be swallowed by a Chomper before digestion, with a limit of 2 zombies. If the Chomper swallows 2 zombies the Chomper needs to sit and digest for the time of 7 seconds. If a Chomper swallows only one zombie the bar will go up to half way, and the Chomper will not be restricted in the use of abilities or his primary weapon. Also if no zombies are eaten during 3 seconds after swallowing a zombie, the bar will steadily drop until zero. If an impatient Chomper eats a zombie while the bar is 4th the way up or more the bar will max out and force them to digest. This buff will help out with the problem of zombies paring up in groups too.
(When zombies group together.)
This is for all the chompers. We give him a second burrow. Now before you think that it is OP let me describe it. When underneath a zombie (through the burrow ability) you click the burrow button again in which you pop up half way pulling the zombie down into the ground. The zombie will be swallowed and digested at the end of the second burrow. Through this means that you can’t eat another zombie through the use of the second burrow because you have a zombie still in the Chomper’s mouth.
I dont mind it here, but I meant to say take a look at page 5 on here, read it, and then amends yours and post it on that Megathread.
Chomper is already good and balanced.
Really, don't buff her. At best give a decent goop and revert to the old entangle and give a tiny damage reduction while eating.
The only problem chomper has is to be the only short range class of the plants. It's the only frontline.
For something to be good and balanced it needs to be on par with everything else in both defence and offence, Chomper isn't.
Now that Chomper needs to attack, it needs to be able to kill more than one Zombie without getting dealt with, sure it's good at defending, and that's what it was designed for in GW1. Since then all its had is a Goop nerf, Burrow breakdown camera issues and to me, a useless new ability that only kills an Imp when it should be killing Soldiers and Superheroes.
- Digestion Damage Reduction to 50%
- Bite Damage Increase to 35
- Burrow Damage Invunerability
- Health Increase to 250
- Chomp Cannon Damage Increase to 150
These changes still make the Chomper vulnerable, can still easily die after Chomping someone, just doesn't die in 2 seconds flat anymore which will allow other Plants to heal and support the front line attackers. I like these numbers, and the only players who will oppose these suggestions are, you guessed it...Zombie lovers.
The point is that chomper is actually good and what I really don't want to see in the next patch is an op chomper (to add even more frustration to the players).
Chomper is good as it is, could be tuned a little but that is all.
The main problem of gw2 imho is the game design. Maps and plants was designed in gw1 having in mind the idea of an unstoppable swarm of zombies that plants as only to slow down.
Changing the map design and giving to plants an attacking role needed a real rework of plants design. Cacti is the weakest class by far, useless 90% of time not because the maths, but because what he is excellent at (sniping) is not that important anymore (just to make an example).
