Plants vs zombies garden warfare: lost connection to EA se4servers

We purchased plants vs zombies garden warfare for our son for the PS4. We are trying to get set up but have not been able to play at all, as it says "you have lost your connection to the EA servers" e...

@J_0d01 Hi, I assume you're using a sub-account. Can you play on your own account?

@OAC_CAOS I suspect your issue is a different one. Can you try creating a new adult PSN account and link it with a fresh Origin account, and see if this will let you get online. 

If you can get online with the fresh account, please reach out to support, they can check on the accounts which are having issues linking up.

Thanks for your reply. We are using my husband's EA account. We tried also creating an origin account with the same email address, as this was suggested in these forums. Nothing works.
Our PS4 is online and network connection says it's fine.
What the heck?? Why is it so complicated to play a game? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
