Plants vs zombies gw 2 split screen

after hearing that we can play local co op in pvz gw 2 split screen i got the gw 2 deluxe edition yesterday , i was trying to play in split screen but i don't know how to go split screen , so i check...

    It was an error in the ad copy.  It seems to me that you have a case for a refund if you choose to pursue it.

WTF ........  -_- ok i will refund , and one more question ,>>>> i tried to join multiplayer in different regions . . . .  in every region and every game type i tried to join a mp game and all were empty saying waiting for more players , is the game multiplayer dead ?

I have the game Plants Vs Zombies on Xbox One. I am playing on the split screen and I don't know what to do. Can you do quests with your friend? 
I would love to understand the aim of split screen
