Plants vs Zombies GW2 multiplayer

I booted up plants versus zombies garden warfare two on the Xbox recently and tried to play multiplayer when I realized I didn’t have gold. I close down the game went out bought the gold pass and rebooted the game but when I went to the multiplayer portal and tried to join a game it keeps saying you don’t have the correct permissions to access this feature I don’t know what to do I’ve rebooted it multiple times and have waited in case it didn’t go through but it still doesn’t work does anybody know how to fix it.
