Plants vs. Zombies Xbox One Splitscreen mode

In this mode...split screen only allows you to play as plants. Is there a way to play as zombies? My 2 kids (6 and 4) who love this game also get into a fight with each other because to play as a zombie...they have to play single player mode and share the controllers when that character dies, basically handing the controller when you respawn.

The older ones doesn't want to do split screen (which is what i want because that means they both can play at the same time) because you can't play as zombies under split screen.

Is there anything I'm missing as to why the option playing as zombies instead of plants in split screen mode on XBOX One not possible?

    Unfortunately there is no way of playing as a Zombie during split screen or Garden Ops. Zombies team is only available to the competitive multiplayer game modes.

    Thanks for the response. That's what I pretty much figured out but just wanted to see if I may have missed something. Actually my 6 year old was the one who kept telling "It's not possible DAD!...You can't play as a zombie in split screen mode" and he gets frustrated because his 4 year old brother wants to play with him no matter what character. LOL

    Hopefully EA can update this expecially since it's not online and just for two players having fun playing this game on the big TV.
