@billycombo No, the game environments are separate, each system (Xbox/PS4/PC) has its own separate player pool.
Interestingly, there has been some rumblings lately in the industry about cross-platform play, but we're not there yet. I suspect it won't be possible to retroactively apply even if it does become the new standard. Besides, it's unlikely that PC and console players would be put together, given the aiming advantage of a keyboard and mouse.
Anyway, forgive my tangent. 🙂 As mentioned above the answer is a no, sorry.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks a lot David. I'll invest in the PC upgrade since I have already bought the PC version

No problem at all. If you or anyone else needs to double check you can get the minimum specs for the game here: https://help.ea.com/en/article/plants-vs-zombies-gw2-system-requirements/
Good luck with the parts shopping.

Thanks for the post.Is there a way to balance this? For the new game I really think letting us all play together would go a long way to keeping populations healthy for all modes and let us forum lurkers play together! I haven't played a shooter with a controller since Golden Eye and Perfect Dark; I just prefer mouse/keyboard for this style of game but I don't an advantage over someone using a controller, but being able to hang with the forum homies would be great.
