Thanks for the feedback, let us know what sort of FoF identifiers you'd like (if any).
@EA_DavidI was actually waiting for the FoF identifier, however after reading all these guys opinion I can understand why people are afraid of it.
However I do sometimes have difficulties identify between enemies and teammates. Mostly I identify enemies by checking if there's a health bar above them or not, though I notice that allies will sometimes show health bar too.
So I think the best solution is to show allies more clearly instead of showing enemies more clearly, also when showing health bars you can use other colors instead of red for allies. In this way there will be no harm to any sneaky strategy but help players to identify allies in a messy view.
Also I would like to point out that to make characters stand out more doesn't necessarily means we have to add a glow or some outline around it. If you consider some color and lighting theory you will know that by tweaking some colors and contrast we can help players to identify enemies, which is very much like how artist try to lead your attention to a specific part of the artwork.

Some games have a map that indicates where the enemies are. And have that so you can resize or not use. Then they wouldn't be messing with character art. And the people that can't tell that characters apart might have some indication of where they might be.
