This way they can force micro transactions on those who play the game for customizations. I hate that there are no skills that can be had. One of the best reasons to grind in GW2 has been taken out of BFN. Costumes give me very little incentive to play a game, sadly it appears as this is the new world of gaming.
As many have said, and I agree, this game is WAY TOO GRINDY. It's just not any fun. I don't see this game having the level of success of the previous games. They have taken the joy out of the game big time.

As others have posted right above, this does seem like something that is designed to make the game way too grindy so it can support microtranscations. Between nerfing XP, making sure to limit daily XP you can buy, and giving incentive to focus on vanquish instead of anything else it seems like EA/Popcap are more interested in people spending either way too long trying to earn something or speeding it up with money. I have a feeling that this game or the next will move to Games As A Service model, unfortunately. I hope I am wrong on that account. The game hasn't even officially launched and it feels like it is being hobbled. And it also feels like they wanted to sneak in these damaging changes along with other changes to Quality Of Life and balancing but these issues stick out way more to me.

Yeah the grind is a bit much overall i feel. But i like grinding in games, it gives me something to do. As long as that something is mostly PvE focused. I'm not a fan of grinding PvP. As long as they keep adding new zones with bosses i'll mostly keep my mouth shut. But the exp needed for these bulbs is way too high even for a grinder like myself lol.

If you actually played garden warfare 2 you would know that grinding character ranks was longer than in BfN. + getting to max rank with that many variants took way more time.
You'd get about the same amount of coins as in BfN, and the best pack to open in GW2 was still the 35k pack ( for highest chance of legendary), which is similar to 30k capsule in BfN.
Of course you can buy coins with real money in GW2 and you can't in BfN. Someone mentioned microtransactions in BfN in this post, I don't know what you've been smoking as there are no microtransactions that involve payments yet so far in the game.
As for prize bulb exp, you are not meant to unlock everything within a week, but rather a month seems more likely the goal of Popcap.
- 6 years ago@KrudeGaming Except you had literally forever to get to max rank and grind all characters. This Halloween event lasts a month and once its over the items will seemingly be never available again. Not that this should have to be said, but some people simply just don't have the time to play and grind every single day. And about microtransactions, I certainly hope they keep their word. I'm pretty sure they are monetizing just the events, which would explain why it is so extremely grindy unfortunately.... It just is looking like they are going to be using the natural fear of missing out on their customers with these events, which is still.. not cool. I can't say that for certain though, so we will see.
And for the 30k capsules, the difference between these and gw's stickerpacks is that you only get one single item, and half time its just a quote, thats why it feels so unrewarding. The update definitely helped a bit with that though.
