it appears that i just needed to login twice. once for origin and then once again after launching the game. strange, as i am sure i did that. ah well, it is working now. thanks for the help 🙂

same thing is happening to me, so annoying!
Did you find a solution for this? I have Xbox Gamepass and this game is included but it shows this exact same screen asking for a key. Also if I click the button to enter a key it says my PC is not connected to the internet even though it is.
