Hi guys, I bring some hope for ya all. I had tried all the following but still got the error ' there is a problem with your game setup, please reinstall the game'.
Note - Youtube videos regarding execution of all the below steps can be found on youtube. Other than reinstalling the game, I suggest you try out all these before going to the method that worked for me. I was troubleshooting for PvZ GW2 and turns out, reinstalling the game was unnecessary.
1. Repairing the game in EA app/Origin.
2. Reinstalling the game as well as EA app/origin.
3. Clearing EA Cache (https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/#ea-app).
4. Navigating to C:/Windows/System32 and find 'D3Dcompiler43.dll'. Copy the file and save it somewhere as a backup. Now delete the original. After that, restarting the PC and Installing DirectX from (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35).
5. Updating to latest drivers for your PC and running games on discrete GPU settings. (https://bestgamingtips.com/fix-problem-with-game-setup-reinstall-game/)
6. Installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest supported downloads (for 64 bit system, installing both x64 and x86)
Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022
Visual Studio 2013 (VC++ 12.0)
All these can be found here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
Note - Older games might require Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package which can be found on the same site as well.
7. Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135)
8. If you are using N versions of Windows, Install Media Feature Pack (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack)
So now, if the issue still persists
1.open your file explorer and type the following to check error logs on your PC:
C:\ProgramData\Origin
Open the logs folder and check the logs for your game. In my case, it gave error - Missing DLL: [MSVCP120.dll] Error: 0x7E
upon searching for this error- 'missing MSVCP120.dll' on the web, I got some results and looked into this -(https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/missing-msvcp120dll-file/f0a14d55-73f0-4a21-879e-1cbacf05e906)
2. You can scroll down this site to find your answer or just do this.
click on the link (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-for-visual-c-2013-and-visual-c-redistributable-package-5b2ac5ab-4139-8acc-08e2-9578ec9b2cf1) scroll down and install x64 and x86 architectures. Then restart your PC.
Now try to run the game again, it might pop a error which I don't remember but I clicked ok and it worked but a little weird. But then I restarted the game and was good to go.
If this didn't work, then, you might need to search and troubleshoot more on the internet.
Hope this helps.
You can connect with me on EA app under the profile - Ryouji98. Let's play together!
Huge shout out to @Ryouji98 for all of that info! Good work on that. I hope this helps others get this error resolved and back into the battleground!
Cheers!
