Having the different hubs as the home base of most of our shooters, including the Backyard Battleground and Giddy Park, is always great fun. You use the hubs as the portal to all of the different game modes that each shooter has to offer, and it can allow players do basically anything that they want to do. You can still perform the basic features in this hub, such as fighting enemies, earning Coins and XP, completing quests and so on. Backyard Battleground was without a doubt significantly better than the Giddy Park as it was a larger map with more features to explore, although Giddy Park still had its perks. These two hubs almost seem like they could have been combined in a single shooter game if this was executed properly, although I cannot actually confirm this. I would have liked to see how that would have turned out.
On the other hand, Battle for Neighborville has drastically expanded free-roam quests, being able to do them with other players, having multiple and huge maps to explore, completing plenty of quests for story modes, earning lots of collectibles and getting your hands on plenty of rewards. While Giddy Park is not as good as the Backyard Battleground without a doubt, unfortunately, it is still a fun place and had potential to be even better.
I have said quite often that these shooters still have lots of potential. As you have posted in the past @Iron_Guard8, a potential future shooter could expand on the hub, it could be based off the Backyard Battleground, while retaining the better features of Giddy Park. The hub could be expanded entirely and there could be the option to get creative, some of my ideas including:
- Paying to purchase expansions to expand your hub.
- Having choices of items and buildings to place.
- Making your hub unique compared to other players.
- Possibly changing the location of specific venues.
- Unlocking secret areas.
Those are just some ideas and there is room for more. The potential for these games are radiant in these shooters and this is a major reason why I hope that we will all get another shooter.
