PVZGW2 split screen problems

In Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 - in split screen mode, why can't the guest player play as the variants and used customizations and abilities that the group leader has unlocked?

    its they way the game was designed, best thing you can do is just make a new xbox live account just for guests to use, connect it to your gold.

    thats kinda what i had to do for my sis, its not to much trouble.

    did that allow your sis to use the unlocked characters?

      No, it works like a separate account, she had to unlock her own stuff.
      But she had fun opening all the packs she got.
