Rainbow Flower from Rux

The EA servers were down when I tried to play this morning so I haven't checked Rux's wares yet for this month but in general he offers you precisely the same items each day while his shop is open, which is why his briefcase doesn't refresh with new things after you've bought something.

I bought the lamebow flower mostly to get another slot out of the way that's keeping me from getting the good stuff. At least it wasn't another ugly bling item.

It heals differently. It drops a healing sun every 0.5 seconds instead of 3 sun every 2 seconds. 

It also looks nicer, I prefer it. Buy it if you love or use the sunflowers a lot. Rux usually stay 3-4 days with the same items in case you wanted to grind. Anyone correct me if I am wrong. 

It drops one star at a time and ends up dropping 3 every 2 seconds just like the regular one who drops all 3 at once. It is a 500K failure!

The rainbow flower is more likely to save you since it produces sun faster but the regular flower is better for groups

I don't think that matters, I've never been offered the same item by Rux twice.

I'll be buying it because it looks fun and might actually be useful, unlike the arcane lotus.  I'm really glad he's not offering me any legendary character pieces this time around.  I forgot he was coming and didn't save.  I'm a couple ops matches away from the 500K for the flower and nothing else I'm offered this time interest me.

Well he must repeat items you haven't got at some point along the line unless they're coming up with some other way of getting his unique items.

Based on the descriptions provided by people who bought it and tried it out it looks like it releases the Sun Drops more frequently rather than in bunches.

I can see the logic in the changed mechanic; there have been several times when I've been critically low on Health and have run to the nearest Heal Flower and have had to wait that excruciating few seconds for it to release the next batch of Sun Drops hoping that I don't take any damage. By constantly dropping you eliminate that tense waiting time for the critically damaged characters; I wouldn't call if a "failure" as some have- it's simply a different mechanic which some might find preferable.

I'll be picking this one up next time I log into the game.

The new Rainbow Heal Flower is not a 500k failure; it's anyone's choice to use it. I find one particular use for it:

The standard Heal Flower usually drops 3 sun drops all at once, and does that every few seconds or so. The problem there is that one or two plants could always steal away those sun drops from everyone else, making it difficult to heal everyone. That's where the Rainbow Heal Flower comes in. Instead of 3 sun drops every few seconds, it only releases one sun drop at a time, each one spawning in under one second each. It has it's benefits; I'd suggest getting it.

...as long as you have enough coins to buy it, that is. That's the hard part.
