Rainbow Star Update/Rework idea (hear me out Popcap I think it's fair)
Increase Prize Bulb amount to 7500 (not necessary, optional)
Replace Prize Map rainbow stars with Coins again
Replace the last Weekly Challenge reward with Prize Bulbs
Add a 500,000 coin = 200 Rainbow Star weekly exchange in the game. That seems like a challenging yet feasible amount to grind!
By making it weekly EA can still get their money, after all you're only getting 200 Rainbow Stars which equates to 800 free Rainbow Stars a month! (before you only gave away 280 free Stars monthly). Because people will really only buy the 1000 Star Costumes, it ensures that we're not cutting away at your revenue too much, 800/4000. Honestly, we'll have to wait and see, but I just don't think you'll make a lot of money with this. If players have 800/1000 rainbow stars, they'll want to spend money on a cheap bundle to reach 1000, so let's say you make a $5=500 Rainbow Stars Pack. This means that a considerable percentage of players will spend at least $5 a month, as opposed to where if you just give them 280 Rainbow Stars a month, no-one is going to care about Rux.
Additionally, there is also an (in my opinion, annoying) problem where players for some reason don't feel like playing the game after they've emptied the Reward-o-Tron and completed the Prize Map. They feel sad watching their Coins increase with nothing to spend them on. This issue stems from Garden Warfare 2. In that game, there was a plethora of avenues for players to spend their free currencies on. In the town hall, in the Sticker Shop, or on Rux. You might think you're being fair and reasonable by making hundreds of free cosmetics in the Reward-o-Tron, a free monthly Prize Map, giving away more free Rainbow Stars than Fortnite does, and making your legendary costumes only HALF THE PRICE of Fortnite's legendary skins, heck I think you're being fair and extremely generous! But you were more generous with GW2, and people will compare this game to that.
It also solves the issue of players emptying out the Reward-O-Tron. There's no point in adding to the Reward-O-Tron, all that hard work making the cosmetics will go away with a few matches and then so many will go back to having everything again. If players are worrying about the 500,000 Rainbow Star exchange, they'll spend less on the Tron, so less players will have completed it by 2 months.
What do you think?
