Re: Can we get an official soundtrack release for BFN?

@Zedioo  It's not as simple as you'd think, first of all, balancing isn't all the game's problems, there's currency issues (rainbow star earn rates are LOW) and constant bugs/glitches that have been in the game since 2019, and not only that but releasing the OST isn't as easy as just uploading it, Popcap/EA would need to get permission from the people who made the music and/or make sure they don't get caught in copyright issues, so anyways, right now, Popcap needs to focus more on making the game actually work instead of just uploading a bunch of .mp3s. If you wanna listen to PvZ music rips, go to PvZABFan's channel or just search for PvZ BFN OST on YouTube. Finding BFN music rips isn't that hard.

@Sammichu Currency issues? Yea, there aren’t any currency issues. Rainbow stars are premium currency and being honest they DONT need to give any of it out for free. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about that when it’s premium currency. Not many other games give premium currency out for free at the rate that BFN does. You guys think this is some F2P game when it’s not. They don’t have to give any of us any kind of premium currency, be grateful they’re giving some out instead of crying for more free premium currency. Seriously.

I haven’t encountered any serious bugs yet, the only bug I’ve seen that should be fixed is chomper being able to eat you even when you’re no where near it. Other than that, I haven’t seen any harmful bugs.

The composer of the BFN music has a Spotify account dedicated to his work. Why would he say no. It’s all on PopCap to give the ok, which again would only take a few minutes. There are no GOOD BFN music rips for the overtime track on YouTube or anywhere else. It’s all poorly looped, missing parts and only lasts about 15 seconds before it awkwardly loops again. Doesn’t help that every video uploaded it literally just people copy pasting each other.

But, as I said the only thing that needs to happen are peashooter sunflower chomper and nightcap nerfs. After that, the game will be near perfect. The currency is fine as it is. They could stop giving out free premium currency and I still wouldn’t have a problem with it. It’s a gift from the devs. You’re not entitled to FREE PREMIUM CURRENCY.
  • @Zedioo That's the thing though, this is a PAID GAME with premium currency and MTX, this should NOT exist.

There's numerous bugs in BFN, the Bow Master bug (which to my knowledge STILL isn't fixed), the awkward EAC launcher sometimes starting up twice for whatever reason, various invincibility glitches/bugs, and more, just take a look at the Trello board for BFN.

Okay, I'm wrong then, but Popcap should still focus on BFN's core issues before sorting out an OST release.

Premium currency should not be in a paid release, it wasn't in GW2, so why is it here, stop defending crappy EA Popcap MTX.

@Sammichu So it shouldn’t exist, unless of course you want more of it for free? Sounds right.

I’m not defending anyone. I’m just stating the obvious that you people somehow don’t comprehend. You have no right whatsoever to complain about there not being enough free premium currency. I’m glad there’s microtransactions, now I can just buy prize bulbs instead of having to grind it or use exploits that get boring quick.

You also could buy rainbow stars and coins in GW2 and it was worse then since it was all random. Stop complaining about not getting enough free premium currency when you have no right to even get a single star for free to begin with.
  • @Zedioo

It shouldn't exist, and if it does it should be given out for free more often and in larger portions.

You are defending EA/Popcap and their MTX, people like you are why you can no longer buy games and just have fun, now you have to buy the game, the DLC, the microtransactions, the system to play the game on and the peripherals for the game, I remember the days of when you just had to push a button on the character select screen and you'd play as a character in a different costume or with a different colour, now you have to pay for that, all thanks to people like you ruining the gaming industry.

Now that's a flat-out lie, you could NEVER buy rainbow stars in GW2 the way you can in BFN, yeah you could buy the upgrade DLC packs to get rainbow stars, but that wasn't shoved in your face as often as it is in BFN. And coin grinding in GW2 wasn't ever an issue, because it wasn't as slow as it is in BFN (and rainbow stars mattered less in GW2, since they were only ever really used for getting Torchwood and Hovergoat, as well as a few extra hats and such, in BFN they matter a lot more since you can now buy direct advantages with those stars), and since GW2 has good gameplay, you weren't often focused on grinding coins anyways, you were more focused on having fun and winning matches, with BFN the gameplay is so dumbed down and shallow, that the only thing you really can think about is the currency you'll maybe get at the end of a round.

    Stop. Defending. EA.

@SammichuOh god you’re one of THOSE people. You paid for the game, you got the game. When has BFN ever tried the sell dlc? Im not defending anyone, I’m being reasonable. Something you clearly don’t know how to do. I bought BFN and I had fun on day one, 7 months later I’m still having fun. Just because you’re old and depressed doesn’t mean everyone else is. You see those “back in my day skins were free” crap every single day multiple times a day on the reddit gaming sub. It’s honestly pathetic. No one is forcing you to buy microtransactions, some people actually like to convenience of getting more thing faster.

If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. You already paid for the full game and you got the full game. Anything else is optional so stop crying. The game gives you a bunch of free skins for playing the pve stories. You DONT have to pay for ANYTHING.

if only for once just once the people that scream about microtransactions actually had a legitimate argument instead of “WAH ME PAY MORE? NO FAIR WANT FREE WAHHH MICROTRANSACTION BAD!!” You haven’t said a single legitimate thing about how the microtransactions in BFN are bad. If you can’t afford it, that’s your own problem. If your parents won’t buy it for you, well that sucks but you don’t need it.

  • @Zedioo Yeah I paid for and got the game, but when I buy a game, I expect a finished and polished product, like GW2, I'm not settling for bootleg PvZ shooters like BFN, people like you are trying to silence those who think MTX is a bad thing, and those "back in my day" posts are completely accurate, ever heard of Dead Or Alive 6? There's $2200 of DLC in that game, and you have to pay another $1 to change the hair colour of a character, is that the kind of future you want for the gaming industry? Paying 2 grand for DLC? And even more on top? Yikes dude, yikes.

Also, the "don't like it don't X it" argument falls flat on so many levels and it's been pointed out so many times, the fact you're using that unironically is honestly a joke.

    Thanks for the chuckles!

@Sammichu“Like GW 2” GW 2 was not a finished or polished game on release. Also, get over yourself. You’re not important enough for me to try to silence. You’re honestly just very stupid. You try to use DOA as an example yet you fail to see that people literally bought all the dlc because anime *. I know someone in real life that has bought almost all of it. DOA is also the only example of this. Not surprised you went for literally the only extreme example. You won’t settle, yet you did.

The don’t like it don’t buy it argument literally explains itself. Don’t like Xbox? Don’t buy Xbox. Don’t like dark souls? Don’t buy dark souls. Don’t like dlc in a game? Don’t buy the dlc. I have Division 2 and I don’t like the dlc so I won’t be buying it. It’s THAT simple. I don’t understand how you find it so complex. You wouldn’t go into a restaurant and buy shrimp if you don’t like shrimp would you? No, you wouldn’t. Don’t buy something you don’t like. It’s amazing how some people just can’t stop themselves from buying something they don’t like then complaining about said item they don’t like. Mental capacity of a 1 year old eating a lemon. You know you don’t like it yet you keep shoving it in your mouth anyway.

What’s honestly a joke is crying about not having enough free premium currency. What’s even more of a joke is the fact that you’re not a kid and crying about not having enough free premium currency in a game about cartoon plants fighting cartoon zombies to make you peashooter look cute. I’d tell you to grow up, but apparently that didn’t go so well the first time.

But hey man, you’re honestly getting pretty annoying with your crying. Do me a favor and find some other post to cry about microtransactions on.

  • @Zedioo I reckon the whole conundrum with rux and rainbow stars wouldnt be as severe if they simply added more ways to spend coins. Like refilling rewardotron or something. After emptying that there is nothing else but rux (and the 3 month grinds to get 1 skin with rainbow stars).
Back to the topic at hand, you would think that the game would do an official soundtrack release after all of the content in the game has come out. Most games I've played do this anyways. If they release an official soundtrack now then any new tracks added to the game might not make it into the playlist : ^|

@chogath_player Not only this but they'd need to figure out what tracks specifically to release, some tracks go unused in the game files (pretty sure there was pvz1 music in there last time I checked?) and so releasing those would kind of be confusing for those who don't know that they're in the files, so that's yet another thing Popcap would need to sort out.
And being able to buy more stuff for coins or region currency in BFN would be nice too.

@Zedioo Please lay off insults and aspersions if you disagree with someone here. It's ok to state your case, but please do so in a respecful manner.

Back on course for this, I'll let the devs know of the request. I can't make any promises, but hopefully it's something that can be done.

@chogath_player Yea you’re right it wouldn’t be, but you can at least see how complaining about there not being enough free premium currency is just silly.

Honestly, I just want the overtime track the rest is good but definitely not worried about it. It’s hype, it’s loud, it’s exciting, it screams you’re about to lose DO BETTER. It’s just perfect for an overtime theme.

@chogath_player This may sound really scummy, but hear me out here I think it would have worked: I think Popcap should've done a collection system instead of a lootbox system for BFN. You directly purchase the item you want. For example, you want a particular Citron Hat. You find it's in 1 of 3 Citron Collections. The Hat is 200k coins or something (notice it costs more than 30k, this prolongs the lifespan). If you obtain all items in the collection you get the Completion Reward: a Citron Costume. When the game launches every character only has 1 Collection but every week or two a new Collection releases. Considering new characters, this actually works for a couple of years as opposed to a few months. If Popcap wanted to, they could lock the Super Rare Costume Collection and to unlock it you'd need to complete the other two collections. PvE, Prize Maps and Rux solves the waiting problem. You can actually get what you want without having to luck it out. Statements/questions etc. could be 30k. And more importantly it prolongs the lifespan of the Reward-O-Tron.

Thing is, it seems scummy lol because 200k for a hat seems much worse than 30k. Still better than GW2 Rux. Besides, 200k coins only takes 3-4 hours of playtime.
