Re: Chomper's Burrow Ability Needs Balancing

I agree with you. But before I type more, let clarify something. "Yes, we can avoid him. And we can switch to counter him." I'm fully aware and I understand that very well and that's why I switch to Engineer if there were many "good" chompers.

As for the Burrow ability, I have the following to add/confirm:

  • Burrow is a truly annoying ability for most players because there is no 1v1 involved in it. You just happen to be there at the wrong time, at the wrong turn. And you die because someone pressed a button twice while moving.
  • The game has many narrow places and corners everywhere, which makes it difficult to predict/avoid a chomper at all times.
  • The ground isn't always "even" at certain points. It is more difficult to notice a chomper burrowing now than GW1 due to the photo-realistic style of BFN.
  • [Personal Opinion] I don't understand the joy of playing a chomper that dies 80 % of the time. At least, I don't tend to keep them close from me. There are many players who never switch and insist on playing chomper even after many deaths. I do not deny that he is a powerful hero.

I am disappointed that they haven't removed the ability at all. Everyone deserves to be revived and a chance to 1v1. But I fully understand how some people like it and it might not be favorable to them if he got nerfed/reworked.

They could change it so that you can have 2 ability charges instead. You will dig down, go up, chomp here and there behind/inside barriers, then bail out. No need to swallow anything.

  • i guess, the issue with burrow is the sound feedback that have been cranked down too much , add to this all the effect on screen, that make it way harder to detect than in the 2 others game
