Re: Is the Garden Warfare series dead?

@Vinniebread I really hope we see more games in the Garden Warfare Franchise, lots of players still play these games, even Neighborville, so I cannot see why they cannot continue the series, or at least decide, if there was no new shooter coming, to continue updating the current ones. There has been no news whether a new shooter will come out or not, but I might make a post at some point, what I would like to see in a new shooter, based on what went well in GW2, BFN and some new content that would be cool to see.

@TheSprinter85 Yeah I hope that too, but with a bunch of people behind the team leaving the studio in a very small amount of time and lack of Plants vs. Zombies news, it kinda got me worried.

@TheSprinter85If they only update the old ones then just give me my gw1 maps in gw2 with bot support and leave me alone to think of the franchises dark and depressing future.

@stukapooka Well, I don’t really see that happening anyway because those games have not been updated in a while.

@Vinniebread I am a bit concerned about the GW franchise as well. Hopefully we get more news from EA soon.

@Vinniebread Would a remaster really work with gw1's older mechanics and less content though because even if you give the game better qol changes and bots we still wont have things like graveyard ops, several maps, and the rights to promotional characters like chester chomper. Since the game is also backwards compatible on newer consoles many people probably still have the game to this day and wouldn't particularly care for a remaster or would get possibly confused sbout which version to buy.

The advertising would have to be heavy if bfn is any good indication of how much the lack of hype and advertising can sink your game.
  • @stukapookaI'm not sure, but I feel like it'd work with the right marketing, since it's nostalgic for a lot of people. And you can always add new things to the game, I guess.

@Vinniebread Yet in that same vein you could just add all that content to gw2 and advertise it again for that game as basically a 2in1.
