@spIash_damage  Singing an old song here.  The reporting system needs to be better.  And recording inappropriate chat needs to be made easier on PS4.  Or just even made, can it even be done?  I spent a lot of time trying to get a temporary ban on some of this kids and it never happened.  So now they just take chat out unless you have a mic.  Which to me is even worse.  Now parents can’t even hear what’s being said.  I get it, I don’t like dealing with problems sometimes, but eventually those problems have to get some type of resolution.

  • @dwooten77 I try to understand where people are coming from before throwing them to the sharks but I believe positive intentions were executed poorly with BfN chat.  I’m the same as you in wanting the ability to more easily record voice chat in-game.  Not in a manner that breaks privacy regulations (cannot be recorded to USB or streamed online) but solely used to forward (as evidence of abusive players) to EA/Popcap.  This could be a way to moderate chat... but the people we reported would need action taken against them - unlike GW2 where people reported were never held responsible for their actions. 🙁

@spIash_damage It's a tricky one. Sometimes the kids are worse than the adults but not always by a long shot. If I feel inappropriate language is used that's more than an accidental frustrated slip, I usually go in chat or msg & try to calm it down. Seriously abusive rants I report, but they don't get much of a "punishment" from Xbox anyway (I'm not sure about EA).
What would be ideal is if the game itself would start recording if certain words are used, the player to be kicked if it was more than one occasion in a game & for an invigilator to decide if further action was needed - but I imagine that wouldn't solve all the problems even if it were possible.

I admit that while I have a headset, I always turn voice chat in games off. I do use discord with friends but that's private chatting of course. Games like WoW and WoT have really turned me off from open communications with teammates. I still try to team play as best I can though.
