Re: Multiplayer servers dead?

@cardscook77 I know some people have reported problems finding lobbies on PC, but Xbox is fine & I believe PS is too. Turf Takeover & the weekly event are by far the most popular modes, Mixed Mode in particular seems rarely used.
Which region & platform are you?

Strangely I still find crowded GW1 servers. I'm happy about that, I love that game!

@Pinch1Off I can find GW1 during the day & early evening, sadly it usually dies mid-evening over here 😪 but GW2 is always busy 😊

Any PC players able to offer any advice? I'm Xbox, so can't offer much help, I'm afraid.

I’m afraid the bad PC issues will hurt our PC community worse than hackers did in GW2.  Many people simply can’t play the game. 😢

I wish Giddy Park was private (on PC) by default as it seems loading a public Giddy Park is preventing some PCs from loading the game.

You can try NA west maybe? I normally play NA east but I would think the ping from Australia would be unbearable, depending on where the server is and how many hops you need to take. in GW2 I would usually play NA East, when it was a little slow I'd jump on NA West, and back when we had serious issues even on EU servers where the lag wasn't too awful. It's harder to say from the Pacific Rim area though.

And indeed, while I can usually get decent matches on NA east PC, at certain times of the day it can be rough and the serious PC issues that many still have, and really should have been fixed before full launch (along with some others), is keeping some people away. If I couldn't login reliably or kept crashing (and I have locked up and had to exit the program a few times), or got that permanent black screen, I'd not be playing either.

NA East and NA West will join you into the same games...they merged them in GW2 a while back in a futile effort to help lobbies...they are merged in this game as well but still pretty dead.  I tried all night tonight and best I could get was a few 4 player games in team vanquish.  Think about this in all of NA east and west I couldn't find 4 players to start a game for most of the night...when I finally had a game started it crashed on the server side at the end of the 2nd game then I couldn't get it started again.  Absolute top priority in this game is fixing loading and finding active lobbies.  It killed GW2 on PC, and now after only a couple of months this game is almost dead for anything but turf.  My wallet's wide open for microtransactions IF they can keep player volume high.

    PC = loading/performance issues.

Console = sloppy/slow aiming (not aim assist).

I will say I’m glad there’s not such an issue with hackers for our PC crowd.

It obviously won't help with the technical problems, but maybe a post detailing PC players could be used to contact each other & try to get a decent-sized group together for games??? (Until a magic wand is waved 😣)

All this time later, and still the best. Proof that the K.I.S.S. theory is legit.

Like GW2, they're definitely playing the portal events and TT. I jumped into TT about 8 central last night and got a full 12v12 match.

As far as them merging NA east and west, not sure when they did that but it used to be good to switch late at night from east to west to get full matches.

I've got to think that the main issue for PC players is all the serious performance issues many still have. I haven't seen a single hacker in this game unlike GW1 and 2, which is good as apparently the hacking in those games has gotten worse.

@Wwardlord1995 What region are you? Xbox Europe is usually ok. Not as busy in all modes as it could be, but daytime & evenings have lobbies in the main modes.

@Wwardlord1995 I'm surprised it's quiet there, I thought there was a bigger player-base in the US. There do seem to be more children & less adults playing BFN than you'd find in GW & GW2, so the time of day you're playing might be an issue. You might want to try joining games in another region - there's an option to change the regional server in the multiplayer portal. The ping will be higher obviously, but quite often that doesn't cause significant lag - if Europe's quiet late evening I've often joined the NA server. Might be worth a try 🤷‍♀️

I have been playing on North American West server as that one has about a 77 ping. Every other region has a high ping and even that server is quite sometimes
