Your rank did not reset.

The base rank only ever shows two digits. When it is 99; after you get one more level you will earn yourself a rank plate (The blue thing with a #1 in it) and the double digit numbers will return to 01; a rank roll-over.

Now your rank actually reads 101. The rank plate just means how many times you've leveled past 99.
