Re: Nerf Husk hop please

No, Husk Hop is fine. Their is more than enough time to move left or right to avoid it. And it should ignore damage resistance. It is the best ability to take a Mech out without risking your life.

  • The damage on it is fine, they just need to adjust the range of the explosions imo. But the skill that needs a nerf the most on corn is the bigger butter, that thing is so much more effective than the regular version and is a paid skill.

Hey now you leave my pay2win move alone.

I like how the only truly offensive Plant is targeted for a nerf by Zombie players.

That obviously was a joke which flew over your head and the second part wasn't meant for you lol.

The joke didn't fly over my head. But sorry, the way you worded that and everything made it seem like it was all directed at me.

  • Husk hop is fine,it meant to be a movement tool that also can be used offensively. It can do alots of damage if you place yourself correctly but it hard to do and make you vulnerable if you screw up. Clearly it didn't need a nerf nor a buff.

  • Yes, let's nerf husk hop, the ability that sometimes doesn't even come out when you use it, just a big jump with no attack.

I wish people would stop making direct comparisons between classes.  All classes are different.  Corn is similar to soldier, but they aren't supposed to be equivalent.  The corn class is almost perfect as-is and should not be nerfed, with one possible exception - I do agree with a few posters above that said bigger, better, butter needs some tuning...  It should not make the regular ability obsolete, and it should be available to all.

  • I despair when people say daft things like 'nerf husk hop'. The plays are having a hard time as it is and the original poster wants them nerfing...

Let's hope that popcap don't actually take any notice of this crazy advice....

Husk Hop is easy to dodge if you can predict corns when they use it 😛 i mean yeah it can be QUITE deadly if you are in the center of it but if you can dodge it then you can possibly get a free kill.

  • Corn is incredibly popular right now because of the HP buff he got in the last patch and his simple playstyle. (BBQ Corn needs to be looked at though - no reason to use stock over him) Random Shuck Shot snipes aside, they're generally very easy to predict as they're large, slow moving targets. They're also easy to flank because of their slow movement.

They do pack a wallop in mid/close range fights between their attacks and abilities. Husk Hop is their only mobility CD and it doubles as an attack. Is it predictable when they'll use it? Absolutely. Can it be dodged? Certainly. But you generally die if they're allowed to turn up close - which is usually the case because of their 150 HP. However, most Corn Players go horribly out of position as a result of hopping for a kill or two.

Is Husk Hop broken and deserves an overall nerf like the OP wants? Absolutely not. But the devs should look into it ignoring armor on certain abilities like it does with Deadbeard's Barrel - and fix it.

I know that Deadbeard's pretty overpowering in Close Combat right now - and you're probably questioning WHY I'm even bringing this up (again) at all. (Since the consensus is that Plants are weaker as a team now - which I agree with.) Well, the simple answer is that meta will shift with ANY changes made. Characters and their variants will rise and fall from popularity as a result of these changes.

Let's say theoretically that Popcap listens to all the Vocal Players' requests and as a result - Super Brainz, Deadbeard, and Imp are nerfed into the ground. Twister can be escaped from, the DR in Barrel/Twister/Impkata gets lowered, and both the Superheroes and the Imps/Z Mechs get less HP. Corn (more or less) stays about the same.

Give or take a few of these changes, is it REALLY okay that Husk Hop still ignores armor now?

TLDR: Husk Hop's fine in general and doesn't need to be nerfed. Some things need to be looked at down the line though.

    Instant 500+ dmg not op?
Just a mobility ability with a little 500+ dmg bonus?
Impkata: 100 shots × 3 dmg over the span of a few seconds
Turbotwister: at best somewhere around 200 dmg over the span of a few seconds
Super ultra ball: 140 dmg direct hit with a deploy time and travel time
Heroic kick: 30 or 35 damage
Barrel blast: 150 dmg with fuse
Cannon rodeo: 300 direct hit dmg with 6 shots
Zpg: deploy time and travel time 250-300 dmg
Sticky explody ball: 50 dmg + arming time
    sprint tackle: instant 75 damage
    Imp punt: 150 damage instant
Chili bean bomb: 175 with fuse and sombrero 250 with longer fuse
Potato mine: 175 with arming time
Spikeweed: instant arming (why?) 50 damage + stun
Goop: minimum 20 dmg + stun

Husk hop: 500+ dmg instant deploy
What? All kinds of arm times and stuff and here's this stupid ability with with more damage than anything in this list with instant deploy time?
At this point pretty much everyone would say: oh but you can just avoid it. And to that i say: This ability is too inconsistent! It can either destroy a full health z-mech or do nothing. So many times I have been taken out by a clueless corn just jumping to a roof where i reside and take me out with the 3 last hits. Now this wouldn't be good feedback without some solutions. Clearly the problem is that it has a stupidly high potential damage but probabilities of hitting are low. So I say decrease damage by a lot and add a fixed amount of splash damage and direct hit bonus so that it softens the target and when you land behind the target you can finish it off hopefully. That would make it more of a combo tactic than a free kill or maybe not? simulator.

Husk Hop is fine? Did you just say, that Husk Hop is fine? What are you smoking?

The ability can kill any Zombie class instantly. Not just scientist, any.

Whenever you lose a gun fight with a corn, 90% of the time theyll just Husk Hop to get a free kill. The damage should be decreased a bit, along with the way to use it, for example, you shouldnt be able to concenstrate all that damage onto one target, All of that damage, onto one target. You can just aim the joystick down and watch someone be disintagrated.

Also who said that the Plants are weak...? Because if someone did they that.. boy, their probablydidnt notice the disqusting Chomper class.

That CAN ONE SHOT ANY CLASS, might I add.
