There was a glitch which would sometimes prevent an award from appearing over a Chest when it was opened; it was happening enough that they switched some of the rewards to being Gift Packs in the store instead.
If this was what happened, and your brother didn't buy or open any new sticker packs, then selecting "View Last Opened Pack" will show the reward.

I have same trouble, got as reward legendary character sticker from infinity chest, but cant find it. Bad for me, im already bought another sticker from shop, so i cant find trough last opened button. Maybe there any other way to find it?

I assume you've looked through the sticker book for it?
