If your son is playing with an EA child account, he won't be able to use online functionalities I'm afraid. Since he's underage, we can't really give you a workaround to get him to play online, since restrictions are in place for legal reasons (see: How parental controls impact child accounts).

If one were to play online though, they would probably need to create another EA account set up as an adult account, and link it to a PSN ID. I believe this should work but of course, I can't recommend it to you, since your son is underage 😉
