If you've been off playing GW2, you'd certainly notice the difference to basic walk speed - as @chogath_player says it's significantly slower in BFN.

Otherwise, there hasn't been any change to either walking or sprinting character speed, other than the one that was introduced to sprint speed if you take damage.
I can't quite remember if taking damage completely cancels your sprint or just drastically reduces your speed but it's very noticeable. I thought this was brought in well over a month ago though?
