Did you get the one inside the gnome room where you need all 54 golden gnomes? or it can be the one inside the dead beards shark quest. Those are the 2 most common areas people can't check.

The only way to get the last globe is to have collected ALL of the gnomes. Have you done this yet? I don't see mention of it in your post.
