Re: There are only 2 cards that are truely OP and in need of balancing.

Mirror-nut is not OP. It is powerful granted, but as a zombie player, it is not OP. I personally haven't had enough contact with dark matter dragon fruit to make a judgement, but there are indeed more cards/card combos from both the plant and zombie side that are more powerful. I don't know if this was an 'in-the-moment rage post' but I would suggest you get a little more experience with the game, its cards and its counters before concluding that the developers need to start changing stuff.

If this reply seemed intimidating, I did not intend it to be, sorry if I came across this way.

Not a rage post at all. Haven't played against one in a while actually. And I do have a lot experience with the game, just not with the forums :P I'm never one to cry for nerfs either.
I truely believe mirror nut is far too powerful. Far too many low cost high health nuts for the setup. Only 3 tricks i can think of (not sure about the new season cards) that can outright destroy it (so with out beastly or hearty none) with others that can bounce. And a deadly hotdog imp. I've played a chickening on a full field of nuts just to watch it :P
And dragon fruit, note what happens after that is played....
  • First of all you couldn't be farther from the truth on mirror nut. It has been nerfed already, which was wrong in my opinion. Once triggered in the past it used to keep doing damage regardless of the block meter being triggered which I believe it still should. In my opinion you're playing with the wrong cards in your deck. A few things, Wall Knight is one of the heros you won't run into as much as you progress because, before the change at least, he was easier to win with at lower levels and tougher to win with at higher levels. I know from experience as a primary plant player that rolled Wall Knight into the 30's but got regularly beat after that. Why is that? Mostly experience. I think you gave a great example. "The chickening". If you play that against a board of nuts with mirror nut on the board, you get what you deserve. I used to laugh so hard when I had a board set up with one or even better multiple mirror nuts, playing against one of the four zombie heros I know can have that card and they save four brains for tricks. In my humble opinion if you want to get good at the game you need to think like this. You could see it coming from a mile away and before the nerf I'd wipe them out in a turn but guess what? I'm betting they never did that again. People that are experienced know that when you see wall knight save weed spray, rolling stone, locust swarm, numerous deadly cards with strike trough even, backyard bounce just to name a few and that's pre change. There's a ton more now. I'd put money on you being somewhere below 30 rank which is not a diss, you're just learning what to look out for and how to deal with it. It's hard to win with a wall knight mirror nut deck post 35 pre galactic change. Trust me. It takes a while to get the board set up as wall knight. If you let the game get to rounds eight and above against him, in my experience you will lose more than you win so take that experience and attack hard early.

One suggestion I have is run with decks yourself that you struggle to beat. You'll see how other players combat strategies you struggle with which only makes you a better player in the long run.

As to the new cards, strategies and defenses against cards like dragonfruit. It's way to early to be calling for nerfs in my opinion. We for the most part are all just learning what works and what doesn't and they will nerf cards if proven OP. In the meantime if you can, use the same cards that beat you to stomp others until someone decides to change it. That's my suggestion.

I was for sure thinking Weenie Beanie was going to be mentioned here.  Nerf that guy!

On topic... @904e8d29c3cd2aa2 makes great points.  There are a lot of cards or combos that are just going to own you.  At the end of the day, gotta get the other guy to zero faster than they can do that to you.

I think you've unintentionally given weight to my argument.
You need to be specifically running weed spray, rolling stone, locust swarm or the only deadly strike through: hotdog imp with toxic waste imp/ deadly trick or line dancer with deadly.
Sure weed spray and rolling stone are commonly used but the others are far to specific to run in decks just In case we encounter mirror nut.
And that's my argument, without using these, it's a tough nut to crack. And that's why I think it's OP. Because no other card in the game I've found that is so ridiculous to counter and so easily set up for maximum, consistent damage. The heartichoke loop is no where near it.
Also I ended at rank 35. Months ago I stopped playing ranked matches and only started again when the rewards for your rank in season 2 was announced. Tried for taco but not enough time.
Currently at 24 and dealing with the "game is not working properly" hack too often ☹️
  • Everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion obviously. I respectfully disagree. I have yet to run into Wall Knight with Mirror nut played and have only seen dragonfruit once and I'm currently at 36. I will say you want to see OP on Wall Knight? Run into a few Asto Vera's and watch his health get jacked to 40 then come talk to me lol. Too many "OP" cards out there in my humble opinion to point out those two and games go far too fast again in my opinion to be effective with Mirror nut as you get higher in rank.i can't see them making changes anytime soon. They've most likely worked far to hard and long to make quick changes after only a couple weeks of data.  Good luck to you.

Haydeebear, have you tried using Mirror-Nuts yourself, or just had them used against you?

Mirror-Nut on Planet of the Grapes...the match can't get you enough free cards fast enough.

True.  Definitely a potential downside (block meter full), but I'm one who prefers to have options (more cards).  🙂

The only cancer in this game is the Ranked multiplayer. There's no other thing besides that. You can't even get more stars because players are now trying Set 2 cards that are very OP.

I'm working my way up from level 20, but it's a mix of fun (yes I win!!!) to /facepalm (getting owned).  If everyone has access to the same cards, it's not unbalanced.  Some players were more prepared or spent money, but it's a level playing field.

How can you get up to next rank with the decks while your opponent has always the strongest cards of all. I bet you can't even beat real human opponent or anyone that is in your rank or higher.

I went from level 26 to 28 this morning.  I played players below, at and above my rank.  *shrug*
