FYI you need a lot of rainbow stars to unlock the two new characters.  Just putting in the fifth code doesn't give you the characters.  They are in chest that are locked.  So keep grinding to get the rainbow stars.

It took me so long g to figure it out and thanks to your comment about the original code it all came flooding back. I want to thank you for your help and hope you have  great day

The missing symbols represent a fifth code which will become useable after you have defeated all four Trial Guardians.

What you will do is piece together a secret code to summon the Rainbow Guardian by inputting the missing symbols in the order indicated; so for example, a Watering Can which is missing from the first space of a code and a Lawnmower missing from the fourth place are your first and fourth symbols of the secret code. The other codes will piece in the other symbols to the secret code.

After you defeat the Rainbow Guardian the final reward room will be unlocked and you can then start working on releasing the two new character classes from imprisonment.
