unfortunately this will happen if you not sync your game account with FB / EA account. it is really sad that EA not has backup account on their server

It's been a while since I started my account, but an easy solution if they haven't woven it in to the tutorial of the game is to have people set up their account with a follow up warning if they skip that, a message that data can be lost.
