I use Imp without any regrets, it's basically not my fault if noobs complainted for more HP because they don't know how to play.
Just play whatever you want. You can still lose against plants even with a full Op team, because this isn't Tekken, this a teamwork game, the team that teamworks better win.

Anyway if you want a good opinion, you can try the All-Star. This class require very good decision making and you have to manage wells your skills : imp punt, tackle and the dummy.
You can parry a lots of things with Dummy, and the tackle is just so good.
Goalie, Cricket, Regular, Gold and Tennis seems pretty solid afaik.
