I've been avoiding multiplayer for some time due to the hacker issue, which is a crying shame since the PvZ shooters shine in multiplayer, but this is crazy even with this game's various issues over the years.
EA, you must do something about this and ASAP!
So there's more information on the type of people who have access to the exploit, luckily it seems that not every single hacker has access to the banning exploit and it's only a few people with that power.
However, the people with the exploit seem to actually just be targetting other hackers, youtubers and high profile players, apparently they have no intention on randomly banning random players, this technically means you can play multiplayer still but its at your own discretion, you probably wont get banned but the probability is still there.
I don't really trust their intention, since banning youtubers already proves they have bad intentions on the way they want to use the exploit.
It's now pretty safe to play OPS offline, and Private Play with friends or bots. You likely aren't a target if you casually play, aren't a youtuber and don't hack but take it with a grain of salt, as random people have been falsely banned so only play on multiplayer with discretion, if you are dieing to play just play the offline game modes, the exploit can only happen if the person knows your EA Id.
Also to clear up any confusion, for GW2 if you do get banned it only means you can't play multiplayer, you can still play offline and i'm pretty sure with other friends. High Profile is a broad term but it seems to only describe youtubers and hackers, and the information about who the hacker targets has come directly from the hacker themselves, which is why you should take it with a grain of salt.
