We have an update to share regarding this matter: Updating PVZ Garden Warfare 2 PC with EA anticheat.
Dev acknowledgement, while I don't expect it from EA or PopCap, it'd be nice to get some word on this.
Doubt they will, my account just got hit by one of the SKids and i'm permabanned now and support wont even do anything
An update on the situation for those who aren't in GW2 communities. The situation is now at it's worst, don't even attempt to play multiplayer and only stick with single player. To quote a well respected modder in the community BreakfastBrainz2.
"For the doubters, the ban method has been fully leaked amongst skid groups, and PC players are being banned rapidly. This is another warning to STAY OUT OF MULTIPLAYER UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK BEING BANNED PERMANENTLY! It was announced on the Frostbite Modding Discord Server. Online is now at it's worst to the point that the ban risk is at an all time high.
The situation as become actively worse now that the exploit has been leaked to even more bad actors, making it more dangerous than ever to enter multiplayer.

Hopefully there's more information to go off of based on this if and when implementing a fix (notably, all of the flower pots that are based on level beneath the plants have disappeared).
The game in its current state (except for solo play only) is absolutely unplayable without risk of ban, let alone the boss, client crash or damage scripts the bad actors are using; more than ever does GW2 absolutely and desperately need a fix.
