I snipped this bit as it does seem like this is the case for many people. You definitely see that on Reddit, although it's not 100%. Another reason I've stuck with BfN is that I remember those GW2 launch days and all the GW1 purists complained loudly and often about how GW2 was worse. GW1 is great, no question but it certainly lacks compared to GW2 (no zombie ops, no backyard battleground, the leveling system was obnoxious, no private matches or PvE (beyond garden ops), etc.).
GW2 still has a few lingering problems (spawning as a plant in the zombie base when logging in still happens), and it had a lot of them at launch, but most (not all), of these have been fixed. It could still use a few fixes and balancing (i'm looking at you detonation and most legendary characters), but overall, is just a great time and obviously did very well.
BfN had some improvements (indicators for overheat, the ability to save multiple builds per character, free roam regions), but it does have a lot of problems too. Combine that with the poor marketing and how some people are not happy with the loss of variants and other big changes, it failed to keep the old crew and add more, which is likely what EA planned for this title.
I hope that the perceived failure of BfN doesn't keep them from using the improvements in the game from being used in a new PvZ shooter.
I remember that launch issue for Titanfall 2. It mystified a lot of people as to why you'd intentionally hamstring a game that could have been huge.
However, I think that fighting for which game is better is not constructive, both have good and bad things, however they are great games, and BFN does not escape this rule although more balanced than its predecessors, Branium basher is still very strong within the game, has a PVE richer than GW2 but it could be more, and more customization for multiplayer like GW2.
