I know I’ve been absent but I still have faith. The trellis board was an excellent idea. That being said, I’m still skeptical of the issue being resolved. This being the only shooter franchise I’ve played, are there other games that implement good matchmaking? I heard TF2 or whatever had a good system. What about with your experiences in other online multiplayer games?
It's hit or miss in other games too, but team swapping is either nonexistent or more restricted and TF2 let's you set up your server to auto-scramble or let an admin scramble the teams if the game is a blowout, and I've been team swapped during a match if people leave and I got killed as it auto-balances the teams. It does get annoying if you're the scout that just ran the briefcase in for a point but it's better than matches that are 7-3 players.
In Paladins the matches are tiny, 5v5 and once assigned a team and you pick a character, that's what you play for that match. If people leave they get replaced with bots. So indeed, no team swapping.
I haven't played Overwatch in a couple years now but it was 6v6 and you could be in some major blowouts there. Not as bad as it is currently here, but not great at times. No idea if they've ever fixed that, but there was no team swapping.
In World of Tanks, yeah it could be ugly. I was in a tiny clan that mostly played for fun although my overall rating was 'green' which was decent and in some matches, especially at high tiers, it could be disgusting. There's no respawning in that game; you get eliminated you can just observe or leave the match and grab a different tank so while blowouts were common there, it was usually a quick match and then you got a completely different team next game so it was less of an issue. No team-swapping here either.
Those are my big MP team-based shooters I've played. I played BF:1942 but mostly on LAN with bots, never played much CoD (blech), and never even looked at counterstrike.

This whole thing with the rainbow stars is why I haven't bothered trying to master certain characters- the game is more fun to me when I try out different characters and play styles every time I log in. I've only used my earned coins for the reward-o-tron

Also, @Iron_Guard8 I agree with your opinion of call of duty. It's always been too fast paced for me and just not fun.
