Rux's shop scares me

@kingcodered I dont think the items in ruxs inventory will be available for a limited time. Surely it would be on a rotation of items? You can choose to either save your rainbow stars for next months items or buy some of the cheaper rux exclusives. They are doing things "1 lever" at a time so we'll see how rux goes. It would be weird if people could quickly get the legendary items though.
There's something about BFN that makes the outfits less interesting to me because I don't feel like you actually see everyone the same way as in GW1 or 2. In GW1, you knew what everyone was wearing, you saw close up, the details...somethings different now. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but there is less awareness, or interest in what everyone else looks like, to me anyway. Things feel generic to me now...the nightcap cat outfit...I got it...so did lots of folks...big whoop we are all cats.

I think maybe the issue there is the smallish amount of customisations in BFN available so far...
so hopefully once rewardotron is filled a couple of more times there will be lots more to choose from, meaning folks will be able to create more 'individual' looks....
that and some full costumes are really cool and folks are choosing to stick with the whole costume more or less.
But overall I love the customisations in BFN much more than GW2..... there is a real mix and match feel to them....
while in GW2 there are over 8000.... while some were really good others were rubbish......
and in reality I used very few of them as many just didn't work together...
and many were just downright ugly. (Just my opinion of course).
I would much rather have fewer cohesive customisations that work together. 😃- GW2 had so many customization items because each costume piece had 5 palette swaps associated which sort of artificially bloated the number of collectibles for minimal effort.
I never used those palette swaps because they didn't make for a very good looking costume (in my opinion anyway) since all the detail was washed out by a single metallic color, gemstone sparkle and so on.
BfN costumes and items don't have that same shortcut so I appreciate that they're more usable and less an incentive for grinding.
As far as Rux's shop is concerned; we have to remember that the publisher here is EA and that they are among the companies known for predatory monetization. For some people the Fear Of Missing Out prompted by the availability countdown will compel them to spend money on cosmetics rather than grind it out and potentially wait an unknown period of time for the item to rotate back through again.
I originally quit GW2 with only a small percentage of the sticker book unfinished because the content of the sticker packs changed suddenly to deliberately delay completion of the book. Since I had unlocked and Mastered every character the sticker book was my primary focus for returning to the game at that point and I was planning to continue with the game even after that but having the sticker pack content change to clearly push back sticker book completion offended me enough that I quit the game rather than continue.
Rux's shop here is going to be the same situation for me personally; I'm planning on pushing every character to maximum level but if it's just too much of a grind to earn the cosmetics in a reasonable amount of time I'll likely move on from the game again.
Locking stuff behind a paywall is fine- I can live with that, ignore it and enjoy the game but when any game makes it look like you could maybe get the stuff by grinding really hard while simultaneously frustrating players by making it realistically impossible to do in the time allotted, a move designed on a psychological level to drive people towards the micro-transactions, then that's predatory and I'd rather not keep sinking my time into such games.

So we won't be able to use Coins in Rux's Shop.
I have saved a lot of coins just in case but I guess I can use them now.
- @Lalaku_PSN It doesn't look like it, but we don't know for certain yet that there won't be a way to convert the different currencies, whether it's coins or tacos. If you don't need to spend your coins straightaway, it might be worth waiting until Rux has gone live??? We just don't know at the moment 🤷♀️
