Hi everyone, What does everyone think of this weekly event? Basically it is just Turf but with satellites falling from the sky and dealing damage to players it hits. Any thoughts on this weekly event? 😃 I really like it, I know it's very similar to normal Turf Takeover but I still enjoy it and it still presents a bit of a challenge!P.S. Will attach my weekly challenges tomorrow for this event! 🙂

I finished all of my challenges last night and it wasn't terrible.The strikes from the satellite into the objective areas are more than a little annoying but doesn't really break the mode, it just forces you to stay mobile instead of camping in the protected corners like so many like to do.I think I'm ready to conclude that PopCap actually redesigned and replaced all of the previously terrible Weekly Challenge tasks and I applaud them for it- while some of the previous tasks may have looked fine on paper in actual play the fact that you had to compete against every other player, friend or foe, to get some of them done made them terrible and largely ruined the game experience so thank you for recognizing that feedback and restoring fun to the process.

The challenges are fine (thank you again, PopCap!!) but I would rather not have had another TT event to be honest. They can be fun sometimes, but take so much longer.

The satellites are an interesting touch but I just find it annoying - as well as the damage you take, it bumps you out of position quite often & as in one game as an Engineer I've had my turret moved or destroyed.
It also means that nearly everyone is hopping around like crazy trying to avoid being hit, which in turn makes it hard for you to hit them! 😂🤣
It's ok, not awful but I won't bother with it beyond completing the challenges.

@TheSprinter85 It's lame. As @ToastedSarnie says the challenges are quite ok but the mode itself is nothing special and for me the most boring weekly mode so far.

I finished the weekly last night. It's not the most exciting event, it just adds the laser attacks from the final point at Turning Point to all the points. While TT is my favorite mode, it is nice when the events are other modes so I can get them played (PC focuses on TT, the weeklies, and Ops, at least NA east does).
I did get to play Wizard a lot as I kept getting put on zombies, which worked out fairly well considering things. I was in 2 different lobbies that were both full or near full (8v8 for the mode as usual, even with normal TT being 12v12) as I had to leave and then go back, seeing that is great news as one hears how bad the PC population is that it grates, yet I can find decent matches quite often, it was worse not that long ago, but it's been much better recently and I see a wide variety of rank plates. Unlike GW2 I haven't seen any hackers yet which is of course the way it should be and I think that's helping a lot. Some users are still having performance issues though, that really needs to be fixed.
The challenges are pretty easy and basic:
Win a match
Deal 7000 damage (not in a single match, just total)
Complete 5 matches
This was quick and easy. Being 8v8 it felt a little odd and had a wide variety of match results; ranging from 2 that the defenders won on the last point, a couple that never past the first one, and a couple in between. TT still feels better with 12v12.
I want to thank the team for making these challenges less annoying and not needing to borderline backstab your own team to complete! It's so much more fun to play when the challenges aren't obnoxious.

I only played 3 rounds before I had to get some sleep last night but honestly it didn't feel much different than normal TT. On a side note, I was playing scientist to work on character goals and that changes my focus in game quite a bit. Also the spawn camping was a pretty terrible on two of the matches.

Yep... I have to agree with @ToastedSarnie and @ippig.... not very enthusiastic about it... probably won't be going back to it after Ive got the stars I'm afraid.
That said I think I do prefer the 8v8 though 🙂 so I dunno really.

Yet again easy challenges. It's basically turf takeover. If you keep moving (as you should in TT), you barely get hit. Unless it's getting real crowded and you can't see the indicator.

The lasers don’t even deal any damage, actually. They simply launch you into the air, making it optimal to either hide under cover if you want to turret or strafe (painfully slowly) in order to revive someone. Just a nuisance of a mode.

I understand that it’s basically regular Turf Takeover, but it’s 8v8 (?) for players who preferred that mode. And it just adds a little challenge. The challenges are nice and simple to obtain. I ended up playing a few games of this event yesterday and quite liked it. I personally wouldn’t keep playing this mode once I have the challenges either though. I can just play normal Turf. But at least it’s a new event altogether!
