Something similar happened to me just a few days ago. I was playing zombie and the plant guy plays a cornucopia, but in one of mine lanes appears a trick or treat zombie instead of a plant in the other guys lane, so i asume it was a seedling maybe and glitched. I did won the game because of that haha.

That exact scenario happened to me last night. Except I was the guy with the Cornucopia that lost because of the glitch.
