Having said that, the update is still amazing and the BfN team deserves a cookie for it. Or, you know, actual funding from EA to continue the working on the nearly finished stuff they were working on.
This is an enormous amount of stuff! Too bad it's the last update for the game, had we had more updates that addressed this much stuff earlier on, the game may well have fared better and would be getting more updates!
Sad that's the last update for the newest PvZ shooter, but at the same time, the fact that this much work was put in is good both for BfN itself and speaks well of what could happen in the future for the series! I'll be keeping my eyes out to see what's up nex for PopCap and these shooters especially!
Also, thank you for forcing us to redo the upgrades when we had too many points used so we had to redo them. People have been exploiting the fact that you didn't do this earlier, with some pretty OP builds that cost 8+ upgrade points! I had at least 4 builds that had been reset with some of these changes, but that's fine if it means we can't have builds that are just too powerful in PvP.

As the both of you said, this is the best update BfN ever had, despite not introducing a lot of exciting new content (as we got to play as swarm characters before in the weekly events). While it is sad and I wished they would release the content they have been working on for the last 6 months (Ops Phase 3, Gnome Tag, Iceburg Lettuce, ...), I can accept it now, as the game feels mostly complete and balanced now. The thing I just can't wrap my head around is: Why not at least release the finished customization? I especially like the Cactus recolors found in the files.
If only they had announced the last update would be this good on the first of September. I was so heartbroken when they announced the cancelation on my birthday. I thought we'd only be getting TV Head and Wildflower and nothing else, but they obviously worked incredibly hard on delivering such an awesome update 🙂.
- 6 years ago@benn1nat0r I mean, it wouldn't have been that hard to roll out all those customisations. Rux am I right?!? But yh, I honestly think some of the stuff they were working on were extremely ambitious and it would've helped the game a lot. For me, idrc that much about Lettuce, but Ops Phase 3 was smth I was looking forward to.

@Shadowphinx101 Personally, I feel like they should just add them to the reward-o-tron. Or they could just send them out as gifts via Rux as a "thank you" for supporting them. I don't want to sound entitled or anything, but many devs thanked us on twitter, so I think it would be cool if there was something similar in-game.
And I would like to thank them for making my favorite game.
Ops Phase 3 could have been very cool. While I just made a post saying that Ops in BfN isn't so bad, that's mostly because I consider it to be an introductory mode or a calm, relaxing mode where the fun doesn't come from actually playing it, but from having random and fun interactions with the other players. Ops Phase 3 would have added stuff that could have made the mode appealing to everyone 8in part due to difficulty settings).
While I would have loved to see Ops Phase 3, I think Iceburg Lettuce would have had more of an impact on marketing the game.
Just imagine a new Christmas trailer narrated by the legendary Patrick Stewart. The last one was so cool already, one with Iceburg lettuce would have increased my hype even over 9000.
