you pretty much nailed it. yes totally i play unexpected gifts with a tanky in play. preferably after making tanky deadly.
gravestone trick for quasar, refreshing spacetime or QDCM, sometimes to keep a wall knight from healing via Venus, and also - draw a card (when tanky is in play)

ive managed to play a tanky, then next turn play quasar, then gravestone quasar. getting 3 cards drawn total once quasar comes back
