im rank 24 facing a guy with a rainbow star that has no number (which i assume is the max rank if there is no number)
it was bad enough facing 40s when i wasnt even 20 yet

yeah that's weird, but considering how you have to be at the queue the same time as the other players, the game probably chooses the most convenient player, no matter how high their rank is, else it'll take a while to find a match that's close to your rank.
I sometimes got matched up against players in the wood league, with peashooters and everything. Free stars, but must have been terrifying for them when a Three-Headed Chomper appeared.
Huh, yeah. Beating them up was fun but then you do lose once in a while when their cards completely counters your's.
Once, I beat a low rank player by spamming shroom for two and then do berry angry.
