Goop shroom and loudmouth bot

Goop shroom

Gw description:Goops Zombies, which slows them down and makes them easy targets.

Bfn description:

Fires goop at nearby zombies, slowing them down

.

Possesses 80 health

Medium range

Looks like a green fume shroom but shoots goop instead of fumes. Fun fact" while being reskinned fume shroom, it's still based off a real relative of the plant fume shroom is designed from.

Goop slows down zombies by 75% and applies damage.

This is the only potted plant to directly use the ability, completely unchanged, of a playable plant class.

A driect hit in gw2 is called super goop.

Had to be nerfed multiple times in its fire rate to prevent it from stunlocking bosses when stacked in gw1.

In bfn his goop was replaced by grody goop.

When an enemy is in the cloud, their ability usage will be disabled, and 45 damage will be dealt to them every few seconds as well as dealing 4 damage over time, even when said enemy escapes the cloud. Enemies inflicted with the toxic effect will spread the effect when nearing teammates, dealing 45 damage again and giving them the toxic effect

.

Loudmouth bot

Gw2 description: Equipped with the latest in stun tech, Loudmouth Bot's always got something to say.

Bfn description:

Shouts loudly, stunning plants in nearby proximity

.

Attacks with the loud noises a close-range sonic blast in front of it that damages and stuns plants it hits. Its function interval lasts 10 seconds. It deals 25 damage, and can pierce Citron's Peel Shield. Shoves plamts away a little as well.

Has the loudhare variant for Easter gw2 description: Not sure what sound rabbits make? Come a little closer.

Unlike the sonic grenade he can't uproot chomper.

Both have a 3min. Cooldown in bfn.

In the gw games goop shroom wasn't a strong pot damage wise but he was very helpful at slowing down zombies allowing pots like bamboo shoot finish them off easier and his higher health for a pot allowed him to last longer in fights.

In turf he helped pin down zombie players for easy vanquishes from plant players.

Loudmouth on the other hand was always annoying to find around a corner as a plant as he often left you in a bad spot and could be set up for easy ambushes on weeda and unsuspecting newbies. However he was very much less effective in the open.

In bfn goop was changed into grody goop and in doing so goop shroom as a whole had to be altered since his existence revolves around this ability.

Grody goop is more of a damage ability than the regular goop which simply slowed down zombies. It can deal good damage with a poison effect. However in ops due to the sheer amount of healing zombies who can negate this effect and armored zombies who wont be seriously hurt by grody goop at all it kinda seems like a mute point of a power rather than just slowing a zombie down so other pots can take their shots.

Loudmouth also suffers from being constantly harassed by wildflowers outside his range.

Overall I think these 2 are simply much less effective due to how bfn works as a whole.

I can't be the only who dislikes that both fume shrooms and goop's head design patches were turned into regular circles right? It feels like a really unnecessary visual change.

  • These are 2 that really suffered being brought over to BfN. I love Loudmouth bot in GW2 in the right spots (preferably near the objective but being at least partially protected by terrain), and goop shroom has been a great help since GW1.

A small side note; in GW2 you'll get the quest 'vanquish 7 gooped zombies' and while the best way to do that is to jump on a Chomper, you can use goop shrooms and play as any plant class and get credit! Actually you can also have a chomper friend goop them while you vanquish them as well.

When they first made goop grody goop in BfN, I was actually looking forward to using it more as Chomper is my least favorite class, partly due to how it's abilities are largely 'selfish' but it went from being largely ineffective to being too good in a single patch. The potted plant matters less as they tend to have open spots and can be sniped easily from far behind their own range.

@Iron_Guard8Loudmouth bot was the perfect ambush bot and it was fun waiting for careless players to walk into the trap in gw2.

I never thought about the goop quests! Thanks goop shroom.

Goop and chomper is a controversial subject. I prefer gw chomper in the idea but he suffers a lot of the same problems as the spy. A unique idea of a class held back by his own players in a way and buggy hitboxes (suicide chomper and kamilaze spies). He really would've benefited from the back chomp rework as imo playing chomper as a sneaky support class in gw is the most fun and effective way to play and it's why hot rod and vampire chomper are so popular do to their survivability.

I remember how badly grody goop went from the rather meh it tickles ability to an objective wiper in a patch.

Chomper in bfn feels like they tried to make him more viable but made a lot of the mistakes that drag him down like his stupidly powerful ranged attack and spikeweeds that deal 100 damage and get shot out but ultimately fail due to the absolutely awful areas to put them in bfn since they stick out like a sore thumb in the light. A reward for surviving swallowing in the game where he only has 1 swallow attack that easily gets rid of armored enemies (gw1 chomper just ignored armor when chomping). He's also the first character to be so broken that they had to remove him lol. Not to mention his swallow animations in bfn are kinda weak: gw all star: halfway inside chompers mouth, can't survive. Bfn all star: bro just jump you'll make it.

  • Time to stahp right there and get some easy vanquishes with these summonables!

    Introduction

The Goop Shroom and Loudmouth Bot are types of summonables that work differently to their counterparts. The Goop Shroom occassionally fires Goop which has a decent range, similar to the Chomper, that slows down enemies and deals small damage alongside. The Loudmouth Bot stuns enemies that get close to it, along with dealing decent damage, and it knocks enemies back from it as well. They have decent health, more than the basic summonables. However, in Battle for Neighborville, the Goop Shroom works differently, instead it uses Grody Goop as its attack, which deals fairly heavy damage to enemies that step in it, as well as damage over time, and the damage can spread over their allies if they get too close.

    My Thoughts

While these summonable variants are quite different to each other, these summonables can prove to be very useful when utilised near defend or capture points, as they can make enemies that get close even more vulnerable. The affected enemies will not be able to use their abilities while they are gooped or stunned, meaning that these summonables can really help your team get a vanquish. These summonables are really cool already, but change suggestions I would make include making the Goop Shroom be limited to close range as well, but improve its fire rate slightly, reduce the cooldown of the Loudmouth Bot attack slightly and to give these summonables slightly more health, since they mostly require enemies to get close to it for them to attack.

I would give the toughness of these summonables a Medium difficulty to defeat, as it can really depend which situation you are in at the time. If you are a fair distance away from them, you should be able to shoot them down quite easily without any trouble at all, however if you find yourself located really close to one of these, you could find yourself vulnerable as the goop or stun will make you unable to use your abilities and will reduce movement speed. When taking these out, try to do it quickly, keep your distance and try and distance yourself away from your team a little bit so if these summonables attack, you limit how much damage they are going to cause your team.

The Goop Shroom and Loudmouth Bot appears in Battle for Neighborville, with the effect of the Goop Shroom being altered to use Grody Goop, which is really good to see, and they have a 3 minute cooldown each. I would keep the cooldown exactly the same as it is now, as they can be powerful against enemies, however enemies would need to get into close to medium range for these summonable variants to actually do their job, which can quite limit how useful they are. If an enemy spots them from a distance, they can take it out without much issue as they will not be able to retaliate, therefore having a fairly low cooldown seems fine.

    In A Future Shooter

These summonables should appear in a future shooter, although I would prefer the Goop Shroom to have the same type of goop as in the GW series. These can be really useful for giving allies easy vanquishes on enemies, however they are only effective at closer ranges. They should not be that difficult to get for that reason and they could cost 2,500 Coins each to purchase. I suggest having an unlock cost as well, this cost could be around 10,000 Coins each per faction, but you would also gain 5 of that summonable to get you started, and that also provide a good value and you can freely use these summonables afterwards, which is excellent.

    Overall

As these summonables can be really useful but somewhat lacks with their range, I would suggest that these would be cheap to obtain and quite easy to get a hold of in large numbers if that is what a player wants to commit to. Having an unlock cost attached before use will prevent the player being able to use them very early on, but if they desire, they can unlock them, get a better value compared to buying them seperately, and afterwards they can purchase them freely. They are very useful right now, but changes I would suggest include reducing the Goop Shroom's range slightly to approximately match the Loudmouth Bot (but give it a slightly faster fire rate), reduce the cooldown of the Loudmouth Bot attack and slightly increase the health of these summonables, as they are limited to fairly close ranges and can easily be destroyed at longer ranges.
