Spawnable discussion: karate zombie and hypno shroom

Karate zombie and hypno shroom

Karate zombie

Get punched! Get kicked, too! Karate Zombie can definitely do both!

Has 80 standard health. Easy: 48, normal: 64, hard: 80, and crazy: 96

Performs a karate chop punch that can move him slightly forward and a hurricane kick that can knock plants back. Has hard rock toss as well.

Can perform a super jump similar to Zen sensei and Superbrainz. Is signaled by a hurricane like wind around his body. Can be used to fight on rooftops.

Has a champion version in sensei waves and sometimes makes stereotypical ninja sounds in a high pitch.

Rarest zombie spawnable in gw2 and didnt return for bfn.

Hypno shroom

Get too close, and he'll make you lose your marbles!

Has 70 standard health. Easy: 42, normal: 56, hard: 70, and crazy: 84.

Tracks down zombie players and attaches hypno leech a beam weapon that causes vision and controls to be distorted although zombies can still fire their weapons.

Possesses hypno leech and a long range hypno shot with a short range hypno pulse.

Only weed based on a plant from the original game with a cooldown of 3 and a half minutes in bfn.

Hypno shroom is ok and I have no real problems with this character unless its the hypno flower boss hunt and I'm being attacked by 10 of them. I definitely miss karate zombie as his high jump and devastating melee attacks allowed him to take the fight to the players in ops and turf, he should be brought back and cost a decent amount of coins.

This is the end of the gw era spawnables.

  • @stukapooka I can't remember if the Karate Zombie was a summonable in GW2 or not, but Hypno-Shroom was likely added as a counterpart to the Karate Zombie.
  • I like both of these in GW2. Nice new additions, the hypno shrooms are classic PvZ fungi, and the karate zombies are great counterpoints to the Zen Sensei Masters.I don't summon that often as they're pretty rare, but love em all the same.

Hypno shrooms are super annoying in BfN as the hypno effect is worse than in GW2 (where it is a bit annoying even there), but ever since that bug where certain effects persist, like the hypno effect and healing beams, came into existence, they are far, far worse than ever to deal with. I'm sad karate zombies are gone in BfN, so it loses on both counts here.

We need more AI and spawnables and not less, but they need to take away some of the annoyances too. I find it odd they made Super Bean far less tedious in BfN than he is in GW2, but then they add the Dill boss that knocks you around so much it's maddening, and they made hypno shrooms worse, and some other stuff too. Really need these things to be challenging and interesting in the new game, instead of obnoxious.

@TheSprinter85 Karate zombie was spawnable in 2 he was hust really rare much like vampire and dancer in 1 and while hypno shroom was added in as a special for plants it's hard to hard to call them a direct counterpart.

@Iron_Guard8I really like the karate zombies, especially since the high jump allowed them to take the fight to the rooftops unlike other zombies.

Hypno shroom was hardly ever really annoying in gw2 besides the hypno flower boss hunt but the bfn hypno effect is really annoying due to how it works.

Gw2 Crazy Elite super bean wave: OH GOD, HE'S TELEPORTING EVERYWHERE! OUR DEFENSES HAVE FALLEN. ABANDON THE BASE! SAVE YOURSELVES!

Bfn Crazy Elite super bean: old man with dementia walks onto battlefield and forgets why he's there.

Bitter dill isn't deadly hes just annoying and fast with pseudo toxic effect, like a plant yeti. Also annoying that the only new bosses we got we're all boss hunt reskins for zombies with dill yet they removed big stump and giga garg.

We need more spawnables not less and they need to be interesting like the vampire zombies or hypno shrooms. I mean we have at least 3 other games to draw inspiration from for both spawnables, bosses, and classes.

@stukapooka Alright, I never remember using the Karate Zombies as summonables (I have not actually played GW2 multiplayer for a while but do plan to return). Maybe I do not remember using them because of their rarity to obtain, therefore I would not use them much? Would hope a potential future shooter would contain the Karate Zombie so I can use them again.
