Spore Strike reticle issue!

Product: Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
Please provide your Xbox gamertag or PSN ID. (Optional)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Turf Takeover (PvP)
Summarize your bug I'm not sure if this is a bug or a camera angle issue but before the last patch this never happened. I main Night Cap and a good chunk of the time if there is any slightly raised platform or even a drop off from, say, a roof or stairs - The game thinks I'm aiming at the ground when I am clearly aiming above it. You can see the cross hairs in red below my feet even though I am aiming upwards. It's super annoying!
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just go to any level, go jump up on a roof or stairs, stand on the tip before it angles down and use spore strike. Instead of flying outwards like it should, you'll notice the cross hair aiming down at your feet and your hitting the ground instead of firing outwards.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)

I don't have a video of this but I will try to make one! It's easy to replicate this problem.

  • @Pheesley  this happens to me when I’m 1-2 hits from a vanquish and the zombie is clueless that they’re even being hit. ROBBED, I say! Robbed!

I think maybe the attack itself is too wide and therefore clipping the ground?

@Shinobicap Hello, thank you for the report.  Could you provide some reference images please?  I apologize but I don't exactly understand what you mean by cross hair aiming down at your feet and what firing outwards means.

    @anpangcontractor

Sorry for the delay, it's extremely difficult to recreate this when I have an entire enemy team constantly trying to kill me as soon as I stop to take a screenshot.

@anpangcontractor  The pictures I attached to the post above are just minor examples. I've circled the issue in red and where I am actually aiming in green. I understand the game is saying "hey there's an obstacle in the way" but I'm going to show you where it is also happening through these two screenshots.

I couldn't get it to happen this time through these two. But what I'm trying to show is that this issue is happening in places like this where there is clearly nothing obstructing the attack.

@anpangcontractor  Here is a fantastic example. clearly, in this picture, you can see there is no obstruction.

@Shinobicap Thanks for the clarifications and examples.  I've tried my best to recreate all of your scenarios but have not encountered the issue.  What resolution do you play on, what are all of your graphic settings set to, and what upgrades do you use on Night Cap?

@anpangcontractor  Resolution 3440x1440 Graphics is on Auto Detect I figure its somewhere between High and Ultra, I'm running an EVGA 980 TI GTX Hybrid. It's basically the exact same specs as an Nvidia Titan card. Upgrades I use on Night Cap are Combo, Critical Blow and Fleet Footed. I can't imagine the Upgrades has anything to do with this but you never know.

  • The red reticle that is on the screenshots is new, it supposed to appear when someone uses Blue Blazes or Can't Miss-ile. So it's not a bug

My understanding is that the lock on UI is different from the red x that he is highlighting, and is more circular.
