Sticker book having different amount of stickers to get?

I was comparing my wife's book with mine and the total numbers of stickers is different and I am not sure why.  Total stickers for her to get are 6969 with 3361 on Plants and 3608 on Zombie's.  My book has it at 6988 overall with 3618 for Plants and 3370 for Zombie's.  Why is there a difference?  Both are on PS4.

Basically any sticker with "special" as its rarity does not show up in the sticker book or contribute to the total # of stickers listed until you actually obtain it.

These do include the pre-order advantages and Unicorn Chomper, but they also include certain stickers that are gotten from mini-quests in the backyard battleground.

One example would be the Nervous Raincloud hat for the Sunflower that you unlock when completing all 4 pot missions. After unlocking that one, you can then get the silver/gold/etc variants of it from regular sticker packs, each of those count as "special" stickers as well. There are many of those and they are usually (if not always) tied to completing a bunch of related backyard battleground missions.

Every "special" customization item that is rewarded from backyard battleground missions and every upgrade variant thereof will not appear in the sticker book until you've actually obtained it.

Do you have any add-on content purchased such as the Deluxe Edition DLC? There are a few ways in which the game increase the amount of items in the book as adding on additional "unobtainable without purchases" would force people of the completist mindset to purchase stuff they may not want in the first place.

Here are ways I know the amount of stickers can increase:

    • From an update. Such as the Garden Variety Pack (the one with the new oldish map and the Rose nerf) greeting you with new missions in the Backyard Battleground when completing them all would grant a new customization option.
    • From a DLC. This would include the Emoji customization masks which are only obtained via purchase.
  • Both consoles have the same version the deluxe edition and both have maxed out 313 in GW1 there are no differences.
