Stickers don't seem to add up

Am working through plant stickers in the quest for legendarys and I notice my sticker album filling up nicely. One thing I don't get though is that it says I have 2,656 out of 3,358 stickers for the plants. The problem is that by the looks of it I only have around 100 spaces missing in the sticker album. Does anybody know why there is this discrepancy or am I missing something blindingly obvious?

    stickerbook items also include the upgrades for all the variants took me a while to figure that out as well

    also some other confusing things 

    the upper limit is also dynamic which is confusing 

    for me its 7000 but for others its 7006 i think

    it looks like i missed some quest that unlocked some items but i have no idea which one 

    or it might just be a bug

    If you get a special item it will increase the amount of items in your sticker book

    Max items currently is 7006 if you get all items from things like dlc and holiday packs. A big portion of stickers is character upgrades which means you need to max out all your characters. If you are missing legendary characters then you will not be able to get weapon skins and tattoos for them which leaves then locked until you get the legendary characters.

    More me max is in the 6900s .... anyone know why this is?
