I find this quite bizarre in the extreme. When another person mentioned it prior I thought they must be wrong. Wasn't there a help caption that came up before that stated that all you need to do was log on each day to maintain your multiplier. Why on earth would PopCap change this by stealth and without notification, why go back on their word. They can't change anything else in the game arguing it all takes time and effort, and then when it suits them, they sneak this little beauty in hoping people will either not notice or be too apathetic to care or comment about it.
Sorry but I'm really starting to find the behaviour and attitude of the dev and publisher to be quite distasteful. They are grasping for new lows to get people to play their game constantly. Only problem is if they made it really fun and fair, people would play it anyway. If they dont start giving back to the fans, the people that have loyally supported them, then this game may well go the way of the dinoasaur.

That's exactly right. If it were fun they wouldn't even need to worry about it. I doubt that something like this even occurred to them during GW1.
