Why would I lie? That's what my backyard leaderboard says, 194 Assists with Welder.

Oh and the reason I'm not comparing it to Peashooter because Peashooter is one of the Plants primary front line attackers.

For that to happen, all of the following would have to be true:
1) plants didn't get rofl stomped and they put up a huge fight - which according to you doesn't happen because zombies walk all over them.
2) you would have to getting an assist for pretty much every death that occured. so you'd have to be literally everywhere.
3) you somehow barely killed anything only got assists, because if you get a kill that's one more assist you didn't get. Odd seeing as your opinion that the engineer wrecks plants and is easy to aim and get kills with.
Then you go on to attack me about balance which I never even mentioned. Pathetic.
Oops, I forgot to mention it was probably against AI, but my point remains. Engineer variants have so much splash I don't need to aim. Plumber, Electrican, Welder, Trash can dude...
I only ever speak the truth, I have no agenda other than to be honest and comment fairly to balance the game. Plants suck, and I'm merely comparing like for like because PopCap are creating new classes like for like but giving Zombies more power, more abilities and more health.

The whole argument of plants being weak is MP so you certainly implied it, but you got caught out so it's time to backpedal. Incidentally how can you have a point against AI? That's like saying I can have a several hundred kill streak with anything and claiming it's imbalanced. Go figure.
PS you do need to aim with the engineer as the splash damage is much lower than a direct hit, and the shot also arcs slightly like a grenade toss. If I don't aim with my toxic pea I do 10 damage. If I don't aim with my fire pea the same occurs. What's the diff? One is easier to aim as it shoots straight (pea) and slightly faster (pea). The other is slightly harder to aim (engineer) and hits harder (engineer). Swings and roundabouts.
