System Requirements for the PC platform

Minimum system requirements:
CPU: Intel i5 650, AMD Phenom X4 9850

RAM:
4 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, AMD Radeon HD 7730

OS:
Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit

The amount of Hard Drive storage space wasn't mentioned.

As of February 17, I found the complete requirements on EA's PVZ-GW2 website, and will post a fresh comment now.

  • My specs:

    Win 7 64 Bit

    8 GB Ram

    2 TB SSD Drive

    Dual AMD 5800 Radeon

    I have an Alienware M17X R2 (2009 model).

As long as you have at least 4GB of RAM, you should be able to play this game.  My video cards are extremely old btw and I can play the game flawlessly even though one of them is DISABLED.  Yes, I was almost unable to play the game because I needed to updated my AMD display drivers.  The problem here was that it would auto detect the bad card, install the drivers for it and my screen would go black.  I eventually found out how to prevent Windows from detecting and installing the hardware so that when I updated AMD display drivers, it would not detect and install the bad video card.

So I am playing on ONE video card that I believe is about seven years old flawlessly.  I would record, but I don't think there is a way to disable Origin-IN GAME for the trial of GW2 which prevents my recording software from detecting the window.

If my eight or nine year old laptop can play this game on one video card, most people should be able to.

Neither the game developers nor myself have ever been impressed with any laptops other than those from Sager as gaming platforms.  The official requirement hardware is always stated in terms of desktop machines.  Laptops run at 15 to 25% slower core and VRAM speeds when compared to the same video chips in a desktop format.

AMD / ATI never made any video graphics card, as a discrete device, with any codes ending with double zeroes.  They made an HD 5830, and I still have one of those, an HD 5850, and also an HD 5870, as well as a 5870 X2 card with twin GPU chips.  All of those desktop cards exceed the performance of the HD 5750 minimum desktop card.

Given the very wide range of performance levels involved, I wouldn't doubt that laptop version based on both the HD 5850 and HD 5870 are very likely to exceed the official minimum 5750 (desktop card).

I have an older laptop that's an INtel Celeron that runs at 2.13Ghz - is it safe to say this will not run PVZ MW2?

Sorry if this is a noob question, I am not very technically inclined, and am going by what I read in the system info.

    Thank you!
