@realitysquared I think Zombies have often appealed to a higher percentage of players throughout all of the games - a bit more "cool" or something.
I've played more plants throughout GW & GW2 (once maxed) mainly because I like playing fair-ish lobbies, so usually end up swapping to plants to balance team numbers. It's always been extremely rare that I've needed to switch the other way.
I enjoy playing Zombies in BFN probably more than I did in the other games, the characters are fun but I do think a big part of the appeal for others is simply that whether it's down to their kit, mobility, damage (whatever), it is far easier to vanquish & dominate with them.
That needs addressing somehow - the Plant characters should be just as appealing & their teams shouldn't need to be near-full of elite, strategic players to be able to compete - and that's so often how it seems.

I'll likely unlock this Friday after completing this week's character challenge so have no firsthand experience using it but the few times I have seen it in PvP, it's definitely difficult to deal with unless you can keep yourself at longer range but with those instant teleports that scientists have, it's not always easy.
And indeed, it does seem zombies are more popular right now. I like both sides as always, but the zombies do have more appeal to me right now, just in how they play and some of the new costumes I really like (the Electric Slide Valkyrie costume is a particular favorite). I hope the next new class is not only a plant, but is fun to play as well, as that would help a little. There are a few lingering issues that need to be addressed that would help as well.
Wolfy recently made a video on the games, which I can't link here as he does use a lot of profanity, but as someone who loved the chemist from the prior GW games and looking forward to this Scientist upgrade, he pointed out how unfun it is to play against, so that's something to keep in mind; when someone who loves a particular playstyle finds that such a thing is problematic, it needs to be looked at.
- @Iron_Guard8 Yeah the zombies have always been more fun to play. In GW1 plants just weren't as fun as zombies. BFN balances it out better I'd say, but still. Engineer is more fun than Rose, Scientist more fun than Sunflower, etc.
